Now

What I'm on right now.

A short snapshot of where Knack is this week and what I'm spending my time on. Updated when the answer materially changes (usually every two or three weeks).

Last updated 13 May 2026.

Building

Pack #2: Indie Hacker Launch. Shipped 13 May at v1.0.0. The launch-week system for solo founders shipping their second-to-fifth product. Four skills mapped to the launch lifecycle (product-hunt-prep, build-in-public-cadence, launch-checklist-runner, seo-foundation-installer), one /launch slash command, five worked examples telling one continuous founder story. Live at /packs/indie-hacker-launch. My job for the next few weeks is to get it in front of more solo founders and listen to what the early adopters change about it.

Solo Consultant Ops at v1.1.1. Stable, in buyers' hands. Patches ship when something breaks; new skill work is paused while the catalogue finds its first non-self-purchase buyers.

Distributing

The free Knack Starter Pack is live. Two skills, MIT-licensed, free Polar checkout, public on GitHub. With Pack #2 now public, the job is to get both packs into the hands of solo founders and indie hackers, and to listen to the first buyers carefully.

Active channels this month: weekly long-form posts on the Knack blog, directory submissions (awesome-claude-code, There's An AI For That, Indie Hackers products), and warm outreach on LinkedIn and X.

Writing

Roughly one operator-grade pillar post a week. Recent ones: the Claude Code stack for indie hackers, how to clarify a startup idea in five minutes, and the proposal copy-paste failure mode. Next on the list is a Pack #2 launch-week retrospective post.

Looking for

Not on the list

Skill Score is parked until Pack #2 shows real-buyer signal and tells me whether the catalogue needs it. New pack ideas (AI Builder, YouTuber, Newsletter Operator) are queued for after Pack #2 has paying buyers reporting back. Anything infrastructure-shaped that doesn't make the next blog post or pack ship faster sits in the parking lot.

Inspired by Derek Sivers' /now page idea. See /about for what Knack is, and /changelog for what's shipped.
